Company History

Pottery to Go is the metamorphosis of the company formerly known as "You're Fired" which opened its doors in 1997 as Guelph's only paint-your-own-pottery studio.

Beginning on Wyndham St. N. and later moving around the corner to historic Douglas St., You're Fired played a vibrant role in downtown Guelph's arts community.

This unique retail experience provided a creative outlet for thousands both young and old. Not only offering a one-of-a-kind gift giving opportunity, You're Fired supplied an educational experience in a stress-relieving, inspirational atmosphere.

After deciding to close retail doors permanently on Christmas Eve, 2003, You're Fired co-founder Nanci Pounder developed Pottery to Go to adapt to today's changing marketplace.

Pottery To Go is a mobile, web-based business. We do not occupy a traditional storefront. We do take out kits for birthday parties, wedding showers, girl’s night out parties, or whatever the occasion at hand.

We now also visit hundreds of elementary school classes each year focused mainly in the Wellington and Waterloo Areas. If you are a teacher, please visit the “School Zone” page of our site.

Also, four times a year we host retail events at two different venues: The Creativity Greenhouse and Flo Studio. (Please see our Special Events Calendar.)
